AFTER successfully organizing the first International Conference on Indonesian Legal Studies (ICILS) in 2018 and the second in 2019, the Law Faculty of Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) this year held similar activities. Bringing enthusiasm: UNNES Worldwide for Indonesia, ICILS 2020 carries the theme “Law and Globalization: The Emergence of Global Regulatory Governance and Its Impacts on Indonesian Legal Development”.
The theme is intended to give the impression and affirmation that the development of the globalization era is so fast and the development of the law is expected to be able to answer various problems that arise in the current and future eras. The intersections between law and technology in various sectors in regional developments such as Southeast Asia, the European Union, the Middle East, and others, have had a global impact.
Globalization in many ways also changes the pattern of relations between countries, even to the determination of domestic policies. Globalization has a significant influence on the economy and trade, social, culture, health, defense, politics, technology, environment, and even law enforcement. The main influence of technology in the current era of globalization, in the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era, affirms that the existence of law is very important to provide legal certainty and justice.
Meanwhile, in other contexts, changes in policy and governance patterns caused by the era of globalization have resulted in global policy impacts, resulting in various international scale government regulations and changes in the concept of sovereignty itself.
Through this conference, it is expected to become a forum and forum for Legal Experts, Legal Practitioners, Academics, Students, and the Community to provide advice, input, views, and debate on discourse and practice relating to law and globalization in the current era and its impact on Indonesia. The conference is expected to be able to make a real contribution in the form of deep thought about the development and development of law for the present and the future.
At this year’s conference, the Faculty of Law Universitas Negeri Semarang will invite several Law Experts from various countries. In addition, selected writings in this conference will be specifically published in one of the Accredited National Journals, Reputable International Journals, or International Proceedings.
